札幌市在住。東京理科大学理工学部卒業、北海道大学農学研究科修士課程修了。出産を機に、2009年から手芸によるアクセサリーの制作・販売を開始。近年は造形作品を、2017年からは写真作品を発表している。作品のテーマは主に生きものや自然を題材としている。公式サイトはこちら　https://yukofurukawa.com/

I live in Sapporo City, Hokkaido. I Graduated from the faculty of science and technology of Tokyo University of Science. Then I Graduated from the Hokkaido University Graduate School of Agriculture. I majored in plant physiology and plant physiology ecology. In 2009, I started producing and selling accessories by handicraftas a result of childbirth. In recent years, I also produce objects. CONCEPT
学生時代に生物学を専攻したものの、「生命とは何か？」という根源的な問いを持ち続けてきました。そのため、「生きもの」を観察をする私の視点から「私自身」や「生命」について考察し、作品を制作しています。アクセサリー、オブジェ作品は「生命とは最も尊く価値あるべき」という意図から、より身近に生命の魅力を伝えるツールとして制作。生命の神秘、美しさ、儚さ、生々しさ、愛おしさ、ゆらぎ等、各々の生命の持つ性質を伝えるべく、表現方法をその都度選択しています。写真作品では日常で見過ごされがちな小さな生命や自然に目を向けることで、生命や私自身に価値を見出していく「私の視点」について表現しています。

I majored in biology when I was a student, but I always had the fundamental question “What is life?” Therefore, I consider “myself” and “life” from my perspective as an observer of “living things” and create works. Accessories and objects are created as tools to convey the appeal of life more closely, with the intent that “life should be the most precious and valuable”. I select the method of expression to convey the nature of each life, such as the mystery, beauty, ephemerality, freshness, lovingness, and fluctuation of life. In my photographic works, I look at small life and nature, which are often overlooked in everyday life, and express my viewpoint, which finds value in life and myself.
